This old farmhouse is only 4 miles from Carentan and in a rural location, up a lane from the main Periers road. In the heart of the Cotentin, (50) Manche, Normandy, France. This is an ideal location for holidays or house hunting.

The main, 5 bedroom, house is of traditional stone construction and there is a barn, outbuilding built with stone and cob. The main house is completely refurbished with many original features retained including a large fireplace in the main living area. The barn, outbuilding will require complete modernisation.

Outside is a large lawned area to the rear with established trees and shrubs and to the front is an orchard and other lawned area. Land area approximately 1 acre, 4000 sq m.The house has a habitable are of 150 sq m comprising of a fully fitted and equipped family kitchen with breakfast dining area, a large living, dining room with feature fireplace and meal seating for 12, 5 double bedrooms, all en suite with new bathroom and toilet fittings. Where possible original features have been retained and where updated Normandy style flooring and decoration has been used.

All electrics and plumbing was updated and/or renewed in 2006 and the fosse septic conforms to new regulations. Oil central heating throughout and all windows and doors have been refurbished in traditional style. Ancillary heating from the huge stone fireplace in the main living area for log burning in the winter months. Water is supplied direct from the mains and there is a well in the back garden.

To the rear beyond the gardens is open fields and farmland. To the front is the barn for renovation with parking area for parking for 10 or more vehicles, a small pond, leading to the orchard. There are village shops in Meautis, 1m, Raids, 4m, and a full range of supermarkets and shops in the town of Carentan, 3m.

Utah beach is only 12 m away to the east and to the west St Germain beach is roughly the same distance

Schools for all ages in Carentan as well as doctors, dentists, vets and the local hospital.
